Realistic Approach to Nature and Nation Awareness (RANNA)is
an independent, non profit and non political, not
governmental organization working in the backward and
remotest areas of NWFP above the cast, creed, religion and
other group boundaries. RANNA is dedicated to promote
socioeconomic development among the disadvantaged strata of
society.
Realistic Approach to Nature & Nation Awareness (RANNA) is a
working in 5- Sub division of district Shangla, District
Kohistan & District Batagram. It was
incepted in the year and since its inception the
organization working with the people towards the economic,
social, environment and education promotion of the people.
Over the past 10 years RANNA worked to identify the needs
and meet the aspiration of the rural poor and weaker
sections through participatory approaches. Awareness
raising, community health care, child labor elimination and
rehabilitation, environment protection, HIV/AIDS awareness,
income generation activities, joint forest planning and
management, natural resource management, poverty
alleviation, small family concept, sustainable agriculture
development, watershed development, women and child
development programmers, promotion of local groups and
involvement of the groups in development activities are the
major thirst areas of the organizational activities.
During the last few years RANNA has initiated a lot of
activities on income generation activities in the area. It
has mobilized public opinion against vocational training in
computer literacy and tailoring, embroidery in the area.
Different seminars/ and workshops being held for the
awareness and promotion of the concept of the vocational
training in the area.
It
was involved in building local groups and strengthening it
for the development of villages by involving them in
participation methodology. The organization has undertaken
various project and implemented by involving them in the
project activities for their village development.
